Which binding works for a planner?
For planner printing, a binding that lies flat is almost a must: you do not want the book to snap shut while you write. Wire-o is ideal: it lies completely flat and you can fold pages right back, handy if you want only the current week open.
A sewn binding looks more luxurious and also opens well. For a planner you use intensively all year, a sturdy binding is worth it.
Paper and format
If you write in your planner with a fountain pen or fineliner, choose paper of at least 90 to 100 gsm to prevent show-through. A5 is the most popular size: big enough for a weekly layout, small enough to carry. A4 gives more room, for example for a detailed daily plan with time blocks.
For the cover we recommend sturdy board with matt lamination. A planner spends a year in bags and on desks, so it needs to take a knock.
Supplying your file
Supply your file as a print-ready PDF with embedded fonts. Check that your weekly or monthly layout runs consistently and that any dates are correct.
