Which binding and layout do you choose?
For notebook printing, what matters is that it opens comfortably to write in. A sewn or wire-o binding lies flat, so you can write right up to the spine. Wire-o also lets you fold pages all the way over.
Choose your layout: blank, lined, squared or dotted. Dotted is the favourite for a bullet journal, lined for notes, blank for sketching. You supply the inside pages yourself, so you decide exactly how each page looks.
Which paper prevents show-through?
If you want to write with a fountain pen or fineliner, choose paper of at least 90 gsm, ideally 100 gsm, so ink does not show through to the back. For pencil or ballpoint, lighter paper is fine.
A5 is the most popular size: easy to handle and roomy enough to write in. A6 works for a pocket size, A4 for a notebook with plenty of writing space.
Supplying your file
Supply your file as a print-ready PDF with embedded fonts. If you use a fixed page layout such as lines or date fields, check that it sits consistently on every page. Keep a generous inner margin so you can write right up to the spine. Not sure about your file? We are happy to check it at no charge.
For personal use, gift or sale
Many people print a single notebook for themselves or as a personal gift with their own cover. Because we print from a single copy, you do not need to order a run.
