Which binding suits a wedding album?
For wedding album printing, a sewn hardcover is the natural choice: it lies flat, so a full-width photograph or a portrait runs across two pages without disappearing into the gutter. That matters for the group photo, the first dance or a sweeping venue shot.
A hardcover also gives the album the weight and presence of a keepsake meant to last a lifetime, and to be handed down. A matt-laminated or linen cover, optionally with a foil-stamped date or names, adds a refined finish.
Paper and colour
Choose heavy paper of 150 to 200 gsm so the album feels substantial and photographs do not show through. Silk gives skin tones a natural, soft rendering with restrained reflection, usually the safest choice for a wedding album. Gloss makes colours more vivid but shows reflections and fingerprints.
Your screen shows RGB while printing uses CMYK, so colours can shift slightly, particularly the whites of a dress and skin tones. Work in CMYK and request a proof if colour is critical.
Supplying your file
Supply your file as a print-ready PDF in CMYK at a minimum of 300 dpi at actual size, with 3 mm bleed on full-page images. Keep faces and key moments clear of the gutter on spreads. Use the photographer’s full-quality files, not compressed versions. Not sure about your file? We are happy to check it at no charge.
A keepsake for years to come
A wedding album is often reprinted for parents and close family. Because we print from a single copy, you can order a proof, check how your images come out, and then order extra copies. For guidance on colour management for skin tones, see the International Color Consortium.
